Trusting and Obeying in the 21st Century

Posted on March 26, 2010

What does the song, “Trust and Obey” mean for Adventist Christians? In the 21st Century, we like to be independent and free of “old fashioned” guidelines. We like the “trust” part, but push aside “obey” thinking we know better or that we are more enlightened.

Jesus said in Matthew 18:4, “Therefore whoever shall humble himself like this little child, this one is the greater in the kingdom of Heaven.” God the Father wants us to have a simple, child-like faith.

As we continue on in the 21st Century, it is imperative we learn how to trust and obey God in our theology and methodology. Satan knows he has but a short time and is trying his best to rip apart God’s people (Church). The nasty devil knows that he can divide our Church is he can cause us to go to extremes (ultra liberalism and traditionalism).

Let us pray for Holy Spirit power, balance, and victory in all that we do in the name of Jesus. A surrendered people will be a unified people.
