What would you think if the NYC 9/11 tragedy were to happen every single day? It was said that about 4000 people died when the two airliners slammed into the Twin Towers.
Chew on this… 4000 times a day… 167 times an hour… 2.75 times a minute… every 22 seconds… someone in America dies from a legal abortion. http://abortionno.org/abortion_no.html [CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE]
This is what God says about His ability and power to know and plan life in advance… “Before I formed you in the belly I knew you; and before you came forth out of the womb” (Jeremiah 1:5).
Why do most of our church leaders remain silent on the subject of abortion? The Evangelicals and Catholics speak out loud and clear in opposition to abortion and we just sit back and let our church members fend for themselves when it comes to the development of a belief system about the life and death of unborn children.
This is what our Church has to say about abortion…
“The Church does not serve as conscience for individuals; however, it should provide moral guidance. Abortions for reasons of birth control, gender selection, or convenience are not condoned by the Church. Women, at times however, may face exceptional circumstances that present serious moral or medical dilemmas, such as significant threats to the pregnant woman’s life, serious jeopardy to her health, severe congenital defects carefully diagnosed in the fetus, and pregnancy resulting from rape or incest. The final decision whether to terminate the pregnancy or not should be made by the pregnant woman after appropriate consultation. She should be aided in her decision by accurate information, biblical principles, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Moreover, these decisions are best made within the context of healthy family relationships.” http://www.adventist.org/beliefs/guidelines/main-guide1.html
I am sorry, but this is weak. Who within our Church and hospitals has the ability and divine power to dictate the giving and taking of life even in exceptional circumstances? Why do we think God cannot use children who come from the tragedy of rape and those who have defects?
I do not know about you, but I would not want the blood of one innocent child on my hands. Here is the story on one individual who could have been aborted for “exceptional circumstances,” but is now impacting millions of people around the world for Jesus.
When my beautiful wife become pregnant, we began to visit the doctor on a regular basis. During one of the visits, the doctor ask if we wanted to test to see if our baby had any deformities. We said no… knowing that we would take whatever the good Lord gave us. Who are we to play God?
God is the Source, Giver, and Sustainer of all life:
“…nor is served with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives life and breath and all things to all. For in Him we live and move and have our being, as also certain of your own poets have said, For we are also His offspring” (Acts 17:25,28).
“The Spirit of God made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life” (Job 33:4).
“All things came into being through Him, and without Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men” (John 1:3,4).
The time has come for us (the Church) to begin talking about this very important topic.
#1 – Prayerfully decide for yourself where you stand on this “life” subject.
#2 – If you decide that “unborn” children are worth fighting for, try talking about this topic in your local church, send your church leaders e-mails… asking them to take a stand for “pro-life,” and talk to your teenagers about the “sin” of abortion (show websites, pictures, etc.)
#3 – Ask our church leaders to reform our Adventist hospitals when it comes to performing abortions. Killing “alive” babies should never be an option.
Here is a video clip of some “pro-life” people protesting in front of one of our churches.

Praise God there are still some who will stand for the truth, tho the heavens fall!
Yesterday i received a letter from the Office of the President of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists (i’m SDA myself), basically just repeating the same old thing, that there are “exceptional circumstances” such as “severe congenital defects” and “pregnancy resulting from rape or incest” where the “decision should be made by the pregnant mother”.
There is no Biblical support offered, as there is not any.
It is so sad to see we finally have a “strong” leader, who is calling for Revival and Reformation, yet will not call a spade a spade, and come out firmly in favor of the 6th Commandment….

I was raised a 4th generations SDA. There is a lot to love about the church, but this brings shame and disgrace. We are NOT the remnant for the remnant keep the commandments(include the 6th). How can there be a revival while living in rebellion to God, destroying image-bearers?
Maybe, just maybe we should not sit by and be silent over this issue any more. “Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.”
