What do you think about this house?  At first look, there does not seem to be anything special about it.  Two bedrooms, two bath, and a two car garage.  If you were to look under the house you would see that it is a mobile home.  How much would you pay for a mobile home?

This home is going for $2.5 million dollars.  How could a two bedroom and two bath house made of wood, nails, glue, and siding go for $2.5 million dollars?  Let me tell you a little more about the house.  This Malibu, California home sits on one of the best ocean-side sites in Paradise Cove overlooking the Santa Monica Bay.  [READ MORE]

Location – Location – Location

Location is VERY important!!!  Businesses need a great location to be successful.  A thrift store will not thrive in a million dollar neighborhood and a BMW dealership would quickly go out of business in a low-income neighborhood.

You may be asking the question, “Why are you talking about houses, thrift stores, and BMWs?”  I will tell you why…  I have traveled all across the United States and have seen way to many Adventist churches and ABC stores tucked away in “secret places.”  We seem to like cheap or free property when it comes to building new churches.  These hidden churches make it difficult for people to find them and does not provide good advertizing opportunities.  When it comes to our Adventist churches, we need to find properties that demand the attention of the town or city they are located.  When we have a church event, we should be able to effectively advertize with yard banners or digital signs.  All of our churches should be able to advertize their website domain names which guide people to professional, visitor-friendly websites.  There is so much we can do with church properties that are located in high traffic places.

Then there are the ABC stores.  I have seen a number of ABC food and bookstores tucked away in the country with our academies.  Our academies should be located in the country, but why should ABC stores cater to Adventists only.  Our Adventist bookstores should be located in high traffic spots that allow the community to utilize our services.  I would love to see our ABCs to be created into stores that provide a Barnes & Noble style… Warm neutral colors, clean facilities, books, music, gifts, food, maybe a healthy cafe that serves fruit smoothies and veggie wraps, free wi-fi, etc.

Jesus is coming soon and now is the time to take our wonderful Adventist Christian message of love and hope to the world around us.  If you have influence with the location of a church or ABC, try your best to make sure it is located in a high traffic spot.  There is no reason to hide from the people God has called us to seek and to save.
