I came across an interesting two part series on extreme fundamentalism. The documentary covers three major world religions: Christianity, Hindu, and Islam. If you do not have a working definition of the word “fundamentalism,” you could say it is imposing one’s religious views on another person or group of people. Instead of accepting and respecting another religious faith, fundamentalists believe that their personal belief system should be forced on everyone in a specific family, church, town, city, state, or country.
As a Bible student, I do not believe that Jesus came to force the world to love and follow Him. Luke 19:10 says that, “the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Jesus said, “And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw all to Myself” (John 12:32). And John 3:17 says that, “God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him.”
FACT #1 – There are some real Christians who love others for who they are and there are some radical/extremist Christians who like to force their views on others.
FACT #2 – There are some good Muslims who accept others for who they are and there are some radical/extremist Muslims who like to force their views on others.
FACT #3 – There are some sincere Buddhists who respect others for who they are and there are some radical/extremist Buddhists who like to force their views on others.
Let us bring it closer to home…
FACT #4 – There are some real Adventist Christians who love, respect, and accept others within the Church and outside the Church for who they are and there are some radical/extremist liberals and conservatives who like to force their views on others.
If you have the time, please watch these three video clips and pray to the Lord that He will give you a loving, Christ-like heart.
I will add more to this post when I have time.

I’m a fundamentalist 🙂 And i don’t force anybody. 😉 Actually, the definition given near the top of this post is not a standard definition. Wikipedia has a very good definition, of which here is part: “The term has since been generalized to mean strong adherence to any set of beliefs in the face of criticism or unpopularity (see Establishment), but has by and large retained religious connotations. Historically, for some constituencies fundamentalism connotes an attachment to a set of irreducible beliefs.
“Fundamentalism” is commonly used as a pejorative term, particularly when combined with other epithets (as in the phrase “right-wing fundamentalists”).”

Satan has gotten people to believe that “fundamentalism” is a bad thing, so anyone who takes the Bible literally, for example, is seen now as bad person.
Jesus was the greatest fundamentalist of all time, and if we follow in his steps, won’t that show our love for him?
