Are You a Real Christian? Do Others Know?

Another Friday is here.  The work week is coming to an end and I must ask the question…  What did we do to enlarge God’s eternal kingdom, help others, and serve those in need?

It is soooooooooo easy to live life for ourselves.  There is nothing wrong with going to work to pay the bills and add to the bank account, watching a little TV, surfing the internet, exercising, hanging with family and friends, eating, and sleeping… Question: Did you intentionally share Jesus with someone this week?  Did you go out of your way to help someone in need?  Did you invite someone in need of Jesus to church this week?

Working as a minister gives me some experience in the area of personal ministry and I can say that most people do not intentionally share Jesus or invite others to church on a weekly basis.

Casting Crowns wrote the following lyrics:

But if we are the Body
Why aren’t His arms reaching
Why aren’t His hands healing
Why aren’t His words teaching
And if we are the Body
Why aren’t His feet going
Why is His love not showing them there is a way

Jesus paid much too high a price
For us to pick and choose who should come
And we are the Body of Christ

Jesus is the way

If we are truly filled with the love of God, we will have desire and power inside us that will cause us to automatically share Jesus every chance we get.  Humans naturally talk about what they are passionate about.  Did you talk to someone about Jesus this week?  If so, praise God!  But too often, we talk about work, money, sports, hobbies, and TV programs.

If a revival and reformation is going to take place in our Church, we need to first experience the love of God and surrender all at the foot of the cross.  Once we are filled with God’s love, something amazing is going to happen.

  1. Our hearts will be filled with happiness
  2. Our homes will reflect God’s love in the way we communicate with our family members
  3. Our coworkers will know that we are Christians and will be invited to Bible study groups and church functions on a regular basis
  4. Our churches will become safe places for people to get to know Jesus as their personal Friend and Savior and everyone in church will be serving others

Jesus wants to come back and take us home with be with Him in paradise, but we need to finish our gospel work before that great and glorious day takes place.

I want to encourage you to spend time with Jesus everyday in prayer and Bible study and as you are filled with Jesus on a daily basis… please be intentional about telling others about our amazing Savior.

I want to challenge you to invite at least one person to church every single week.  I know you can do it!  You can do all things through Christ who gives you strength.
