I was checking out some Adventist websites and came across a link to this sad article.
“Over the last year or so I’ve become more public in my support of open and inclusive congregations for my LGBT brothers and sisters and in my convictions that LGBT relational behavior, when lived within the spirit of the biblical principles outlined for heterosexual relationships, are compatible with God’s will.” [READ MORE]
Todd J. Leonard has been a pastor for 11 years, serving Adventist churches in Georgia and Tennessee. In May 2011, he joined the staff of the Vallejo Drive Seventh-day Adventist Church in Glendale, California as Pastor for Collegiate and Young Adult Ministries. He has been married for 14 years to Robin, mother of their daughters Halle, Abigail and Emma. Todd’s 1999 M.Div. from Andrews University helps him focus his passion for creating communities of faith that welcome people from all walks of life and compassionately serve their cities.
Here is a post I recently submitted on this subject [CLICK HERE]
Pastor Leonard is currently employed by the Seventh-day Adventist Church and is in a position to influence many of our young people and church members. His public stance on homosexuality is open rebellion and needs to be addressed ASAP. Our young people need to know what sin is in these last days. They also need to know that the LGBT community is always welcome to attend our churches and when they have gained victory of this sinful lifestyle, they can be considered for church membership.
Let’s stand up and speak up for Jesus!!!

Seventh-day Adventist Position Statement on Homosexuality
The Seventh-day Adventist Church recognizes that every human being is valuable in the sight of God, and we seek to minister to all men and women in the spirit of Jesus. We also believe that by God’s grace and through the encouragement of the community of faith, an individual may live in harmony with the principles of God’s Word.
Seventh-day Adventists believe that sexual intimacy belongs only within the marital relationship of a man and a woman. This was the design established by God at creation. The Scriptures declare: “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh” (Gen. 2:24, NIV). Throughout Scripture this heterosexual pattern is affirmed. The Bible makes no accommodation for homosexual activity or relationships. Sexual acts outside the circle of a heterosexual marriage are forbidden (Lev. 20:7-21; Rom. 1:24-27; 1 Cor. 6:9-11). Jesus Christ reaffirmed the divine creation intent: “‘Haven’t you read,’ he replied, ‘that at the beginning the Creator “made them male and female,” and said, “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh?” So they are no longer two, but one'” (Matt. 19:4-6, NIV). For these reasons Adventists are opposed to homosexual practices and relationships.
Seventh-day Adventists endeavor to follow the instruction and example of Jesus. He affirmed the dignity of all human beings and reached out compassionately to persons and families suffering the consequences of sin. He offered caring ministry and words of solace to struggling people, while differentiating His love for sinners from His clear teaching about sinful practices. [Source]

MDiv from Andrews? These “theological cemeteries” are where the foundation is laid with the seeds of Babylon. The last generation workers in the vineyard will be “called from the plow” and not from “higher institutions of learning.”
It is past time for true Adventists to stand in unity with Christ. Those who go to Heaven will be “saints — not sinners.”
“The Eternal God has drawn the line of distinction between the saints and the sinners, the converted and the unconverted. The two classes do not blend into each other imperceptibly, like the colors of the rainbow. They are as distinct as midday and midnight.” (CT 341)

How presumptious of those who fancy themselves as understanding what they read better than others. These people share fundamental beliefs with dictators. It is time for these superior beings to use their logic and hearts rather than their prejudices.

Wow! All I can say is… Read the Bible. God, truth, and love go hand-in-hand. When God says, “don’t do something,” I think He knows whats best for us and that is good enough for me.

This is a sad state of affairs within our SDA Church. I have contacted Larry Caviness, President of the Southern California Conference, about Leonard, and others like him. Caviness is unlikely to say or do anything about ordained SDA pastors endorsing homosexuality.

Homosexuality is not a disease, nor a chosen lifestyle, nor a sin. What happened to Christians being loving and accepting of each other? You say you welcome and tolerate same-sex couples in your church but condemn their sexual behavior. As if their intimate relationship is ANY of your business in the first place. I am a proud supporter of the LGBTQ+ community and I can assure you that Jesus stands with me regarding that argument. Pastor Todd Leonard is no less of a Seventh Day Adventist than you are. We can all agree that the significance of loving one another and treating others as we want to be treated has NO exceptions, regardless of sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, social status, or religion.

I have also contacted Caviness by email and personally spoken with him numerous times about this problem, Ryan Bell, and many others. Caviness is without a backbone when it comes to supporting our SDA Bible-based beliefs. He is about as clueless as one can be, with his head stuck up his rear end. When will this embarrassment to our SDA Church be let out to pasture?
