The Southeastern California Conference Executive Committee recently voted to ordain women into the ministry. This rebellious act boldly goes against Seventh-day Adventist Church belief and policy.
On March 2, 2012, Azure Hills Church Senior Pastor John Brunt preached a sermon on bearing witness, in which he called for the ordination of women in the Adventist denomination. Three weeks later, members of the Southeastern California Conference Executive Committee voted to ordain women. Brunt announced the historic vote to the Azure Hills congregation, eliciting both tears and cheers. [SOURCE]
When it comes to Women in Ministry, a majority of the of the delegates in GC session voted not to ordain women. Now we have a conference disrespecting the prayerful work of the World Church and there seems to be very little being done to hold our church leaders in Southern California accountable. I don’t know about you, but it looks like we need to clean house in Southern California… leaders drinking and cussing, teaching Theistic Evolution, ordaining women in ministry… What else is going on out there (Southern Cal.)?
Let us pray that God will give our current church leaders the wisdom they need to fight against the attacks of the devil.

Adventist Church Leaders Rebel

I wish women in ministry..period. Why not ?; I disagree with cussing and drinking other than wine moderately; no excesses. So that’s just my conviction.

I honestly dont see why its such a problem. I think its sad that women in the Adventist church as overlooked yet they are a MAJOR pillar in many Adventist churches. There are many amazing women speaker and i do think that they deserve recognition. Also EVERY and i mean EVERY conference has there issues and no one is without fault . Pointing out SoCals issues is wrong, and a main reason why we lack unity. To many people pointing fingers and not looking in the mirror. If we all actually mirrored christ we would pray for believers that struggle and encourage them instead of condemning them

@ beautyqueen – I also believe we have some very talented and gifted women in the Church. These women have helped strengthen our Church family in many ways, but this is not the issue. The issue is “what does the Bible say?” The Bible clearly teaches that God has created gender roles. These gender roles help bring balance in a sinful world lost in chaos. Men and women each have a role to play to help strengthen homes and churches.
If the Bible says that men are to be the spiritual leader in the home and church… that is good enough for me. I trust God and want to follow His guidance. Myself being a man, I know that I have a big responsibility in my home and church. In the home, I must be the first to love, forgive, serve, and be like Jesus in every situation. If I prove myself in the home, I can then qualify for leadership in the church.
As for holding each other accountable, we are not a conference church… we are a world church. The world church needs to be united in Jesus and His amazing truths.
